Substantial cash prizes were awarded for each 1st , 2nd, and 3rd place winners plus three Honorable Mentions for each of the two divisions.

This contest began September 1st and was open to girls in grades 9-12, focusing on Southeast Michigan.

This year the contest was split into two categories, Beginner and Advanced. The MCWTF held a training day and continues to offer an online course that teaches contestants how to create websites, so interested novices can sign up for the contest with confidence. A teacher must sign the girls’ entry form as a “sponsor.” Girls can enter alone or with one teammate.

The theme of the contest differs each year. This year's theme was Magic Genie in a Bottle: You found a magic bottle and released a genie inside.  The genie granted you three wishes. What are they and what do you hope to accomplish with these wishes?

Our web design tutorial is available: www.mcwtfwebdesign4girls.net/tutorial/tutorial.htm This online tutorial teaches how to download free web design software, prepare your web design workspace, create a website and upload it to the MCWTF server. The web design portion includes working with tables, images, lists, and hyperlinks.
